My name is Igor Kanifolsky, I am a psychotherapist, teacher and researcher of psychotherapy, I live and work in Kyiv.

​

I am the author of Awareness Therapy - an integrative and innovative approach in which I seek to summarize the achievements of psychotherapy over more than 150 years of its development and enrich it with deeper knowledge about awareness and human potential from Tibetan Buddhism.​ In Awareness Therapy, we understand awareness not simply as mindfulness, but as a creative force and the basis of any of our experiences. This is a new approach.

My training includes studying medicine at the Military Medical Academy, and in the process and further - acquaintance with various areas of psychotherapy, healing, psychological counseling and coaching - from classical hypnosis of the V.M. Bekhterev school, the BEST system of E.I. Zuev, NLP as taught by Marilyn Atkinson, the humanistic approach of Carl Rogers, psychoanalysis, Jungianism, Gestalt and free arrangements - to coaching by John Whitmore, the inner game of Timothy Galvey, - as well as philosophical systems and spiritual practices, the pinnacle of which I consider to be the teachings of the Great Perfection - Dzogchen - in the transmission of one of the founders of Tibetan Buddhism - Guru Padmasambhava and his modern followers - Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, Palden Sherab and Tsevang Dogyal Rinpoche, Patrul Rinpoche and others.​

My goal is to make psychotherapy faster, easier, better and turn it into a process of discovering potential. And to teach others to do the same.

​

Recently, our approach was highly appreciated by Dr. Stanley Krippner, one of the leading psychologists of our time, a Distinguished Lecturer at the California Institute for Integral Studies. He is the author of numerous publications, including the book “Understanding PTSD in Veterans, Including Women, Reservists, and Iraq War Veterans.” He has received awards for outstanding achievements during his lifetime from the Parapsychological Association, the International Association for Dream Research, and the Society for Humanistic Psychology. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, which in 2002 presented him with the Award for Outstanding Contribution to the International Development of Psychology. He is considered one of the founders of transpersonal psychology. That's what he wrote:

"Awareness therapy is a direction that integrates scientific approaches of humanistic-existential, transpersonal and subjective psychology, as well as spiritual Tibetan-Buddhist practices. The starting point of this therapy is to help a person experience his experience in the problem zone and the zone of development. The main principles of this therapy are not ignoring a person's experience, openness to each other, attentiveness to oneself and others, a favorable environment, useful motivation, respect for one's experience.
That is, this is also a practice of awareness, but of a deeper awareness, which is not only an observer, but also a creator of reality, which is also carried out in the form of sessions, but not meditative, but more usual therapeutic sessions, in which the client's awareness is directed at his request - at solving this request - with the support of a therapist.
When negative memories surface, they are offered not just to be aware of, but to be processed, revealing the client's potential and developing on these "cases".
As a result, it becomes much easier to be "here and now".
In Awareness Therapy (AT), mastering the skill of awareness does not require additional time, it happens during therapy sessions, a person with the help of a therapist "turns on" his ability to be aware, wakes up and receives something like an initiation.
And this is immediately used to resolve the request.
In Awareness Therapy (AT), any person who is able to reflect on their condition can receive help (that is, with the exception of people in psychotic and severe psycho-emotional states).
However, in the initial stages, this requires the participation of a trained empathetic and aware therapist who conducts therapeutic sessions.
